Bright Within is an early test version of a Bible-based affirmation, prayer, and gratitude app.

Your journal is stored on your device

Your favorites, prayers marked complete, preferences, and journal entries are saved in this browser’s local storage. The app does not create an account or send your journal entries to a server.

Local browser storage is not encrypted by this app. Anyone using your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to read entries. Deleting browser data, changing browsers or devices, or removing an installed web app may erase them. Please avoid recording details you would not want someone with device access to see.

Backups

You can download an unencrypted JSON backup in Settings. Store it somewhere private. Restoring a backup replaces the current favorites and journal entries in this browser.

Website hosting

The site hosting provider may process standard connection information, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to deliver the website. The app itself does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, accounts, or an external Bible API.

Audio and reminders

Audio uses the device browser’s built-in speech feature where available. Reminder messages only work while the app is open.
